Last day 7

It's the last day that the girls are 7! My babies are growing so big!! Tomorrow is their Birthday but also FREEDOM day in South Africa, that is a bank holiday, so the girls are celebrating their Bday with cupcakes at school today.

For their Bday party we will go onto a camping trip here in the Bush, but this will be happening on the weekend of May 8/9. So more about that later!

Tomorrow we will have some friends over for a slice of homemade cakes...

Have a super duper week!!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday it was my Birthday and also the second Anniversary of my blog... YEAH to both!!

We had a wild and crazy party on Saturday going on till Sunday morning around 3 am. Wow, what a crazy bunch was here, we danced on tables, drank so many shots and shooters that most of us 15 party animals had to recoup all Sunday before feeling human again ;-)

I don't think we ever went through so much alcohol on 1 night as Saturday, my friends can drink!! The only thing is when you reach a certain age, the drinking is not the problem, it is the feeling you have the next day that is so much worse than when you were 10 years younger!! Luckily I felt OK, a bit of a headache and tired the next day, but that was it... some of my friends felt worse though and were really sick.... that's what you get when you mix so much drinks and party too wild for your body's sake...

Here some pictures of those crazy but FUN friends who were at the party!

Dirk, the bartender giving Marta a drink.

Gustavo & Luciano.

Lane, Nadeem & Dele.

Maryam, Candice, Marta, Tehmina, Stella, Dunke, Hyun, Felicity and me.
The new Legal Aliens :-)

Toasting on my Bday.

Dancing and posing.

Dunke and me. That's how it all started with the 2 of us and a bus ride to Sophia Town...

Nadeem and the girls.

Dirk and the girls.

He likes it there!

This was all still before 12 o'clock... so not my Bday yet. Now it is getting wilder, need to wait for more pictures from my friends cameras, since I don't have much on my camera after this point.... to be continued!

It was such a grand party, we found a really great group of people to hang out with, and I know for sure there will be many more parties and get togethers with this crazy bunch out of all the corners of the world!! Thanks guys, for the fun party!! I hope you didn't feel too bad the next day... ;-)

Then another topic, my 2 year Anniversary of Funky Doodle Donkey!
Wow, I can't believe this is already going on for 2 years! I love to be part of the blogging world, meeting so many nice and interesting people this way and want to go on for many more years. I am thinking of changing the blog lay-out a bit this year, and taking the blogging to a new level... how I don't know yet, but I need to change a bit I feel...

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING MY FRIEND OR FOLLOWER!!
I really appreciate your friendship and interest in my blog, my life, my ramblings....

Life is Good!

Cocktail party... YEAH!!

Sunday is my birthday, so I invited some of my friends to celebrate coming Saturday, and we will go on till early morning Sunday. We had 2 weekends ago a huge party at my house and we are planning to make it even wilder this coming weekend!

So neighbors if you are home, be aware, there is a wild bunch at my house this weekend!!

Since we have a full bar here in our house, I am planning to create with the help of my hubby who is an excellent bartender a lot of exotic drinks, shots and shooters. We will have some great dance music going on and some other fun activities... parties at our house tend to be really crazy, like dancing on tables, jumping in pools with clothes on... things like that, so I am expecting a lot from this crazy bunch that I call my friends!!

I invited about 12 couples, so the house will be full, fun, loud, crazy, wild, excotic, hilarious, unforgettable!!

These are some of the drinks we are planning to prepare.... Apache shot, Blue Hawaii, Cockroach shot and Mardi Gras Mango Rita, but there will be many more.....

I will keep you updated after the party and will show you some PG-13 pictures of the party....
Because what happens in South Africa stays in South Africa :-)

Have a good one!

Happy Bday to my sweet hubbie!

Congratulations to my dear husband!! Dirk turned 42 today!! And he just arrived from a business trip from Europe, so we have all the time to celebrate!!

Here he is as a little typical Dutch boy of 3 years old, with his white blonde curls... aww.. even sweeter than now ;-)

I am not very big on mushy words, but he is my best friend, confidant for 18 years now. We have traveled the world together, seen our ups and downs, but he has stuck with me through thick and thin, for richer or poor! He is the best and sweetest dad to our twin girls, let's me shop till I drop... almost without a limit LOL!!!

I love him very much!! And I hope he will have a grand day and even a better year ahead of him!

Let's go for sushi Dicky D, since the girls have a sleep-over party!
See you later alligator!

April 27th: Happy Birthday to my sweet Princesses!

I wanted to post this yesterday, but my internet connection went bad after my haircut post, so I have to do it now....

My sweet little babies turned 7 yesterday on SA Freedom Day! 7 years ago I had no clue of their existing yet and now they are my sweet little big babies!! I only met them for the first time when they were 9 weeks old. My heart and thoughts went out to the Bmother yesterday, not knowing she was carrying twins on that day she went to the hospital to give birth.
When JJ came out and the afterbirth didn't come (the doctor had walked away already) suddenly the nurse called him back... another one is coming out! So 10 minutes later Jezz was born. They weighed respectively 2,1kg/4lb&6oz and 2kg/4lb&4oz. The lenght I am not sure about. Both healthy and happy ;-)

So yesterday, since it was a public holiday, we celebrated together with a super duper breakfast and opening their gifts. Happy campers they were when they saw all their wrapped packages on the breakfast table.

The day before we had set up a new trampoline already, it was hard to keep that as a surprise because it is so huge.

Then in the afternoon we had a Princess Tea Party at a venue here in town. The girls were all day excited to go and meet their friends, dress up as a Princess and have tea, games and Princess food. It was so much fun, and all the girls were excited to be a Princess for a day. The highlight of the party was to meet a 'real' princess that joined the party the whole time. JJ and Jezz had chosen a snow princess to be the guest of honor and so it was. The highlight of the party was when the cake came out, it was a Barbie doll with a big skirt that was the cake. As soon as the princess starting cutting the cake and the legs became visible all the girls yelled out.... she is naked underneath!! So much fun, what else did they thought she would be.. fully dressed?? Later the barbie with a set of clothes was the bonus of the day.

In the evening we went out for dinner and since the people in the restaurant know us all, they all came out and sang for the girls and they had vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge. Spoiled rotten are these 2 little princesses, but we enjoyed watching them, glowing from joy, excited about all the special attention just for the 2 of them! And my mind wandered off again to this lady I don't know much about but feel a strong bond with. How did she spend the day today... miles away on the other side of the world? Wondering if the girls are OK, feeling happy and sad at the same time? My heart goes out to her, but I know that we will meet again....

Happy Birthday my sweet little angels!

We love you so much!

Happy Birthday JJ & Jezz!

Yesterday, April 27th it was Jasmine's and Juliet's 6th Birthday!! We had a big party at the house with our friends and their children. 18 adults and 18 children, so the house was full!
We started our day, really early, since the girls were so excited to open their gifts. Our guests were coming at 3pm, so JJ and Jezz played all day with their new toys, they were quite happy and content. But after a few hours, the day seemed so long for them, since we were up at dawn! They got excited and anxious now for their friends to arrive, so the party could start!
I was cooking food since 8am and just finished in time at 2pm to get myself ready and into the shower before everybody arrived. I made quite some international dishes from SE Asia, India, Kerala and it involved quite some preparation, but I am happy when I am fiddling in the kitchen. Our friend Espen who lives in the City came over for the weekend and the guys were doing their thing, while the girls played with their new Barbie laptop, nail art or make-over doll, while I cooked up a storm.

At 3pm the party started in full swing and we had a blast with all our friends, realizing that this was probably the last big party here at this house.
Well, happy memories for sure!!

Bday

It's my Bday today, and my girls surprised me this morning with gifts, song and drawings for me to look at and open. Of course I didn't get much chance to open anything myself. Since they are so excited and ripped the paper of the gifts they bought themselves with daddy. So real nice choices ;-)

They also decorated the house with garlands, and made the theme this year: spooky party. Self made drawings from ghosts, bats, skeletons were hanging all over the place. I told them I was too scared to stay in the living room at night, since they might come alive. And they agreed with me that that could be a major issue, so they decided to sleep with me, since daddy was out of town anyway. How convenient!!

My DH is out of town and he sent me roses, that is kinda his tradition when he is away. The girls always get very much excited since there is most of the time a small box with chocolates inside. And even before the flowers are in the vase, the chocolates are gone! Mommy has to share!! Yeah...right, as if I have a choice ;-(
