Time for change! Yes, we can!

Barack Obama is the new president of the USA!! Congratulations, I am happy for the change this will bring to the country!

I see already more pictures, t-shirts, photoshopped images and websites with facts from Obama on the net than I've seen from any other president so far. He is very charismatic and photogenic, his family looks adorable, so from that point of view he is easy to market, especially in this pop-culture world.

Of course that is not the reason why he won this election, but it sure helps! I stand behind his ideas for the future. He is a very good public speaker and he gives hope to a lot of people from all walks of life. I believe this is the best choice for America and the moment is just right. People are ready for something else, we will see how this will enfold. But my hopes are up!

Barack Obama is the 44th President of the USA, and the first African-American in the White House. This was a very emotional election. America is celebrating with tears and cheers. And I feel sorry that his grandma just couldn't be there for this moment, but I am sure her spirit was there!

Well, the elections are over. Back to normal life for me and my blog. Tomorrow we'll talk about the serious business of the Dijkstra family again ;-)

new Presidential family?

Who will be living in the White House soon?

Will it be Barack and Michelle with their young daughters Malia Ann (1998) and Natasha (2001)? Should Barack Obama be elected president, they would be the youngest residents of the White House since Amy Carter in 1980.

Barack's grandmother passed away just 1 day before the elections, our thoughts go out to the family!

Or will it be the McCain family? With John and Cindy, who have 3 biological children: Meghan, John Sidney IV, and James. And an adopted daughter Bridget, who was born in Bangladesh.

John and his first wife Carol have one biological daughter, Sydney. John also adopted his first wife's two sons, Doug and Andy, who were born before John and Carol married.

Today is a very historic and exciting day and we will be following the elections tonight (for us we have to wake up at 3am to follow the elections) but it will be worth it!

Make sure you vote if you are a registred US citizen!! Each vote counts and it is important to let your vote count as well!!

What's your favorite cupcake?

If you have been following the news lately I am sure you are aware that tomorrow are the 2008 presidential elections in the USA. Even if you haven't followed the news that much you can't have missed it. It is everywhere on the news wherever you live in the whole wide world!!

Well, make sure you VOTE if you are an American citizen, since this is a historic moment in time and you want to be sure you are part of it! Unfortunately my citizenship is pending and I am not allowed to vote yet. Otherwise I would know which cupcake is my favorite ;-) However, since this blog is not a political one I keep it to myself.

Even here in SA we are following the news and we will be up watching TV tomorrow at 3 am to see who will be winning. Exciting times!!

I was running this morning on my treadmill and had the Mike & Juliet show on. There was this subject; "If candidates where dogs which dog would each candidate resemble". Quite funny article, so I like to share that with you.
