Wacky Wednesday #6

Last year we went once to a bar in NYC where real belly dancers come to your table and dance for you. The girls were totally mesmerized by these dancers and of course had to re-enact the whole scene at home. So out came the belly dancing outfits and the girls did a performance for us. Including the money part; tradition is that you place a dollar bill on the head of the dancer while she is performing. Fun to see how the girls can get into such thing, especially Jezz in the front has all the right moves!

See how they put their little piggy banks next to the performance mat?? How wacky is that!

Wacky Wednesday #5

Jasmine is almost 3 here and she is with interest reading in this little book..... no pictures in it, just jokes and other tips ;-)



It is wacky that she just picks out THIS book. We will be in trouble with this girl, she has a very flirtatious vibe in her. And the boys already are noticing... OH MY OH MY when this girl turns into a teenager. Dirk will be busy keeping the flocks away! LOL

It is harder and harder to find some funny or wacky pictures of the girls, soon I have to start creating new ones. But this one is from September 2004, the girls are almost 2,5 years old. Having fun in the bath tub, they pretend they are aliens ;-)

Wacky Wednesday #3

Remember when we went to Sheffield Beach for Thanksgiving? I took a bunch of pictures of Jasmine and Juliet for my Xmas card with their tutu dresses. We took so many shots that at a certain point the girls were sick of me... of course they would never say that or complain, they are really such a good girls. But they showed me in a silent way... mommy now it is enough, we don't want any more!!

Wacky Wednesday #2

Last summer the girls had a 'Crazy Hair Day' at school. So we bought these little blond hair pieces and this is how the girls went to school. Fun, fun, fun!

(By the way: this was at our old house in Ridgefield, CT right on the water's edge of Fox Hill lake. I can see in the background the water... and I miss it, such a lovely place)

Fabulous Friday

I am going to get some structure and continuity in my blog, on Mondays I am going to post a picture to the I ♥ Faces website, and some Mondays I will also do a regular post. It all depends if I have a lot to tell you guys ;-) On Wednesday I will do the Wacky Wednesdays pictures and on Fridays I am going to give you a fabulous recipe, so I called it Fabulous Friday. A good way to start the weekend! The rest of the week are the regular postings, the adventures of Jasmine and Juliet here in South Africa, our trips, things that happen around the house. Things that catch my eye, other websites or blogs that I stumble upon etc..etc..



On Fridays the girls are out of school at 2:15pm and they are allowed to watch some TV. The other days in the week they have no time for TV since they want to play or swim after school, do their homework, shower, eat and go to bed. So for them it is also a Fabulous Friday!!

I like to start and eat a bit more wholesome, vegetarian, so when I was browsing the web I found this magnificent, beautiful and de-lish website 101 cookbooks from Heidi Swanson and I signed up immediately to get all these wonderful recipes in my inbox. Just print it out, go to the supermarket, prepare and EAT. No more thinking of what I shall make, because for me that is the hardest part of cooking....to come up with something different every day. I mean I have a lot of sites that send me these daily recipes, but most of them aren't what I want to make, but this site is exactly what I was waiting for. I am so glad I found it! And of course I like to share the good things with you all...my cyber and blogging friends :-)

So each Friday I am posting this wholesome vegetarian dish that I will be eating THAT day. So at least on Friday we will eat vegetarian, but I am hoping to add more vegetarian days into my week. Not easy, since the girls and Dirk are meat lovers, I could easily live without it, so maybe we do a vegetarian main dish and some days I just add some small portions of meat to theirs....

Today I am making Ten Minute Tasty Asparagus and Brown Rice Recipe.


I like the 10-minute part of it ;-) Since Dirk is still in Lichtenstein till Monday I am cooking easy and fast recipes for the 3 of us.

Wacky Wednesday #1

From now on I like to add a Wacky Wednesday photo, I like to start a little tradition in my blog.... just for fun! Sometimes it will be on top of a posting, so I will do 2 a day, or other times I will do just the wacky picture. We will see how it goes...
